Primary PE and Sport Grant allocation for 2016 – 2017

What is the PE and Sport Premium?

The Government has been providing funding of £450 million on improving physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools since 2013.

This funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school Headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools for the benefit of pupils to give them the opportunity to develop a healthy lifestyle.

All schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils receive a lump sum of £8000 plus £5 per pupil.
